Hi! Welcome to my site! My name is Alia Meliki and I am an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I am a proud #WomeninSTEM. I'm studying neuroscience with a minor in writing and considering a minor in computer science. These three fields are very different from each other but I like all of them. I plan to one day create and design my own website where I write about all things science. I am a pretty huge science and poetry nerd, so books are a pretty good gifts for me. I collect them. (Fun game: count how many times I've written the word 'science' in this one paragraph)

This eportfolio is a collection of my writings from Winter 2018 semester. I come into the minor in writing with a goal to be more adventurous. I have always been writing academic papers and/or New Yorker-esque essays. But sometime last year I came across a quote from T.S. Eliot that I put as a mantra on the landing page of this website. That has been on my mind for quite a while and as I continue to understand what Eliot means by it, I want to try explore other forms of writings. This eportfolio documents that exploration.
